What is Bushidokan?
Bushidokan is composed of two Japanese words which are Bushido and Kan
Bushido is a Japanese philosophy that refers to the moral code of conduct that developed among the samurai between the 9th and 12th centuries. Bushido stresses loyalty, martial arts mastery, and honor. It was a way for the samurai to be wise, peaceful and calm. It also has a concept of chivalry that can be very easily compared to the medieval European knights. There are seven core principles that make up the essence of Bushido. They are Justice, Courage, Kindness, Politeness, Truthfulness, Honor, and Loyalty.
Kan is a Japanese word that means School.
Bushidokan basically means the school of samurai ideals.
What will Bushidokan teach?
Bushidokan will teach classes that focus on three areas. They are character development, mental development, and self-defense skills.
What will be the benefits of studying Bushidokan?

Club Requirements There are a few simple requirements that students must meet to be able to participate in Kirby Bushidokan. To be an active member, students must: Be Passing All Classes (All grades above 70) Be Acting Appropriately in All Classes (No d-halls assigned for misbehavior or office referrals) Be Getting to Classes on Time (No excessive tardies - more than 10) Not demonstrate any physical techniques from Bushidokan outside of club training If all of these conditions are not met, the student will be placed on inactive status and will not be able to attend meetings and activities until all requirements are once again met.
Inactive Students If your student is placed on the inactive list for failing a class, there is tutoring available to help them bring their grade back up. Our goal is for your student to be successful and be able to have fun in the club, and we are willing to help them do that. Please contact Silverstrand Shihan for information on tutoring.
